for me to enter a folder with 500 songs or 2 songs it takes the same amount of time..something is slowing yer pc down..

is yer pc on for days and days like mine..restart it..scan yer registry..spyware scanner..try to clean it up.

another app i use is clean disc security..takes a few hrs to scan but it gets rid of alot of junk.just sounds like yer pc is cluttered up with junk.

It's been my experience that when a folder takes that long to open, it probably has a corrupted file in it. Not exactly sure what to tell you to do to find it, but I'd probably start by copying all the files in that folder to another folder, if it hangs up on a certain file, you got it. Also may want to run a chkdsk.

For a quick, light and safe cleanup, you can use ccleaner from ccleaner.com (FREE) I do a lot on my computer and run it a few times a day as I work. You WILL see a difference once you start using this.

It will clean temporary internet files AND temporary Windows files (which could be the culprit)

Will also clean your registry (allowing a backup). You can set it to run at startup, but as mentioned above - Reboot at least once a day to clear other cache files.

Few other safe nice tools in ccleaner too, (I like the cookie keeper) and very easy to understand. I recommend this for all novices because it's impossible to hurt yourself with it! And I use it for light quick cleanups, even though I'm an advanced user. Give it a try.
