Text Symbols

Post by Dude » Sun Jun 18, 2017 9:49 pm

Someone sent me a text message with some symbols in it and I was trying to figure out how they did it.

So with Linux you type control-shift-u, the letter u should appear then you type in the code number like 3020 and it should show, then if you press spacebar or the enter key it will change what you typed into the symbol.
Windows will do this too, but it's different key strokes.

Here is a list of the different symbols you can use.

examples emojis:

you also have icons which you just type in from your keyboard:

:‑) :‑/

if you type : followed by ) for a smiley face, the forum software will automatically covert it from : ) to :).

if you memorize the corresponding numbers for a few of them then you can type them into your messages.

☹️
There are only 10 kinds of people in this world,
those that understand binary and those that don't.
