This detached home in Toronto with a large wine cellar sold for over $3-million

The wine cellar is empty. What would it cost to re-stock it? :oh:
This four-bedroom, five-bathroom, detached home with a large wine cellar in the Avenue and Lawrence Road area in Toronto, sold for S141,000 over asking after being on the market for 12 days.

AliExpress...buying

Post by Webscout » Sun May 20, 2018 11:40 am

I buy a number of items from the vendors at AliExpress and I am generally pleased with all my 'inexpensive purchases'. Most are shipped free,
I recently bought one 5 pack of little led key chain flashlights...the kind you squeese. I just noticed that they also have a small switch (I had my readers on)

The order...3 ok 1 DOA and 1 erratic like 50% out pit light.

Ali has a dispute policy. I suggested a $1 refund and they agreed. Fair and acceptable.

In Canada the max buy is $20 and no duty but it seems some peeps have gone much higher. I have purchased max $50 and no duty. No tax.

The key to getting the best price at Ali is to c/p the item ie mini led flashlights into their search engine. You will probably see many of the same items but the prices will vary.
Some willl ship free others..others pay shipping.

I belive this is one of the cheapest sites online to buy goods from Asia.

Banggood and Gearbest are 2 other interesting sites, a bit different and more expensive I believe.

Anyone know of any other good buying sites.....inexpensive?

The French have a saying: “In every relationship, there is one who kisses and one who offers the cheek.” Why did I always have to be the kisser? Why couldn’t I be the cheek-offerer?

Vory: Russia’s Super Mafia by Mark Galeott

Vory: Russia’s Super Mafia by Mark Galeott

The first English-language book to document the men who emerged from the gulags to become Russia’s much-feared crime class: the vory v zakone
Mark Galeotti is the go-to expert on organized crime in Russia, consulted by governments and police around the world. Now, Western readers can explore the fascinating history of the vory v zakone, a group that has survived and thrived amid the changes brought on by Stalinism, the Cold War, the Afghan War, and the end of the Soviet experiment.
The vory—as the Russian mafia is also known—was born early in the twentieth century, largely in the Gulags and criminal camps, where they developed their unique culture. Identified by their signature tattoos, members abided by the thieves’ code, a strict system that forbade all paid employment and cooperation with law enforcement and the state. Based on two decades of on-the-ground research, Galeotti’s captivating study details the vory’s journey to power from their early days to their adaptation to modern-day Russia’s free-wheeling oligarchy and global opportunities beyond.
