This is what Elmer says about the search.
I have turned the search feature off for the next 24 hours to see if that is what is causing the problem with our host.

if there is no difference with the cpu usage then I can turn it back on tomorrow.
Very sorry members, but we have to rule out what is causing too much CPU usage by our forum with our host.

Hmm...I'm not entirely convinced that this much talked about "too much CPU usage by our forum" is caused by our forum.

There are many forums on the net usin vBulletin, some with almost the same configurations as our forum. If all things bein equal, would they not too 'use too much CPU usage' and get in trouble with their respective host? Is the current host a 'reputable operation' ? The problem may be on their end. They do not appear to be all that competent when their system generates an automatic 24 hour disconnection notice, and when questioned why, they can't give an answer!

Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth.

If you are having troubles with the search. Try stringing the words together
Example:
Illustrated Secrets Of Lockpicking
change this to this
Illustrated.Secrets.Of.Lockpicking
works nicely:D
