if you like someone's post, then you can click on the little icon Image (if your using the blue style) or Image if your using the default style.

that is on each post and leave them a comment and tell them what you think.

It takes one rep from an admin to give you 1 green box on your posts,

3 reps from an admin will give you 2 green boxes.

or you get 1 point each year, and 100 points will get you a green box.

probably better try and post something that an admin will rep you for.

probably nobody is interested but incase someone is.....

here are the actual reputation system rules:

User Reputation Options:
  • Controls how many ratings to display in the user's control panel. set to show last 5
  • you get 1 point for each 365 days your a member
  • 1 point for each 1000 posts
  • For every 100 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
  • How many posts must a user have before his reputation hits count on others? 50
  • How much reputation must a user have before his reputation hits count on others? 10
  • How many reputation clicks can a user give over each 24 hour period? 10
  • How many different users must you give reputation to before you can hit the same person again? 20
  • new users start out with 8 points
  • Admins count for 50 points per hit
so it looks like if you have less than 50 posts and less than 10 rep points then if your leave rep for someone it will show as 0 until you hit these marks, then they will get credit for it.

Thanks for this... I was interested! I noticed suddenly regarding one post I was all of a sudden showing a zero rep. Wasn't sure why, but figured no rep was better than a bad one.

So now I know where to look to understand this (cuz I won't remember it) Still not sure where or how the zero figures into it, but thas ok. After a few YEARS.. I'll look better.

how did you get a bad rep?
actually the way it is set up that for the most part you have to get an admin to rep you or wait 100 years.
either one will increase your reputation.

in case I didn't make it clear, anyone can add to the reputation of anyone else who posts.

Any chance there's a video tutorial on this.. (I'm afraid my eyes tend to glaze over fairly quickly these days)

Okay here is a tut. You can click on the scales Image that is located above the members join date in a post. When you click on that, you can add to someone's reputation. But you can't keep on giving out rep points to a single person...you have to rep someone else before you can rep the first person again. Or you can save an Admin's life like I did. lol

So if you look at Rev's post here.. He's got 5 dark green boxes and 2 light green boxes.. and there is a green "led" beside my name and Elmer's name.. nobody else's..

I guess no one else like anything that was posted here. :D

Not sure what the dark and light green means, probably has something to do with the number you have after a certain point.

hmm.. so if Slim Dan reps DA, then somebody else, then DA again, then somebody else, then DA again.... DA eventually has a better reputation than God?
